About the DCA Calculator
Dollar-cost averaging (DCA) means buying a fixed dollar amount at different prices over time instead of all at once. Add each purchase as an amount and the price you paid, and this calculator blends them into a single average cost, total units, and total invested. Enter the current market price to see your live position value, profit/loss, and ROI — useful for tracking a long-term crypto or stock accumulation plan.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate my dollar-cost average?
Add the dollar amount and price of every purchase. Your average cost is total dollars invested divided by total units bought (each purchase contributes amount ÷ price units). This calculator does it automatically as you add rows.
Does DCA lower my average entry price?
Buying more while the price is below your current average pulls the blended average down; buying above it pulls the average up. Enter each purchase to see your live average cost, current value, and P&L at any market price.
How is P&L calculated in this DCA calculator?
Current value is total units multiplied by the current market price you enter. P&L is current value minus total invested, and ROI % is that P&L divided by total invested.
