Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate forex lot size?
Lot size = (account balance × risk %) ÷ (stop-loss in pips × pip value per standard lot). The result is standard lots; ×10 for mini, ×100 for micro.
What lot size should I use with a $1,000 account?
It depends on risk and stop. Risking 1% ($10) with a 20-pip stop and $10 pip value gives 0.05 standard lots (5 micro lots). Enter your own numbers above.
What is the pip value per standard lot?
For most pairs quoted in your account currency it's about $10 per pip per standard lot. Use the Pip Value Calculator for an exact figure on cross pairs, then enter it here.
