About the Liquidation Price Calculator

This calculator estimates the price at which a leveraged crypto-futures position is force-closed. For an isolated-margin long it uses entry × (1 − 1/leverage + maintenance margin rate), and the mirror for shorts, then reports the position notional, the percentage distance to liquidation, and your maximum loss. Use it before opening a trade to confirm your stop sits well inside the liquidation level.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is liquidation price calculated?
For an isolated-margin long, liquidation price ≈ entry × (1 − 1/leverage + maintenance margin rate); for a short it is entry × (1 + 1/leverage − maintenance margin rate). Enter your entry, leverage and maintenance margin % above to get the exact price.
Does higher leverage move my liquidation price closer?
Yes. The higher the leverage, the smaller the 1/leverage term, so the liquidation price sits closer to your entry and a smaller adverse move wipes out the position. Lower leverage pushes liquidation further away.
What is the maintenance margin rate?
It is the minimum equity, as a percent of notional, the exchange requires to keep a position open — often around 0.5% for major pairs. A higher maintenance margin rate brings liquidation slightly closer to entry.
