About the Margin Calculator
This calculator shows the capital a leveraged position ties up and what it costs to trade. It computes notional as entry price × position size, required margin as notional ÷ leverage, and trading fees from your maker/taker rate — entry fee plus a round-trip estimate for the close. One-click presets fill in Binance, Bybit or OKX rates, or you can enter custom fees to match your own tier.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate required margin?
Required margin = position notional ÷ leverage, where notional = entry price × position size in units. Enter your entry, size and leverage above and the calculator returns the notional and the margin you must post.
How are trading fees estimated?
Entry fee = notional × fee rate, and round-trip fees double that to cover both the open and the close. Pick a Binance, Bybit or OKX preset to autofill maker/taker rates, or type your own — editing a rate switches the preset to Custom.
What is the difference between maker and taker fees?
A maker order adds liquidity to the book (a resting limit order) and is usually charged a lower rate; a taker order removes liquidity (a market order) and pays more. Toggle the side above to see which rate the calculator applies.
